ACLG gets LoGoTRI-PhilNet Level 4 accreditation

The Ateneo de Zamboanga Center for Leadership and Governance (ACLG) was granted a Level 4 Accreditation on Bridging Leadership and Governance Training by the Republic of the Philippines Local Governance Training and Research Institutes- Philippine Network, Inc.(LoGoTRI-PhilNet).

LoGoTRI-PhilNet is the country’s network of institutions that directsustainable, responsive, and transparent capacity-building initiatives for local governance.  ACLG’sapplication for the accreditationofits civil society organizations (CSOs) capacity development programs was approved on August 12, 2015 by LoGoTRI-PhilNet Board of Directors.

An overall rating of 94% was given to ACLG, equivalent to a 4-star rating in a 1-5 scale, indicating that the office’s training program and module meet the standards set by LoGoTRI-PhilNet. Specifically, ACLG attained a high rating in the areas of pool of resource persons and in organization and management structures, each garnering 20% rating. Other areas evaluated include training program and materials, physical facilities and equipment, and linkages.

The program assessors found ACLG’s training module to be “designed and aligned well and caters to the need and interest of the end users as reflected in the Training Needs Analysis.”Training materials used are also “accessible and easy to understand”. They also affirmed that “the organization has an abundance of copies that can be readily given out”.

In related developments, the ACLG has secured a Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) to undertake the project and for its other future partnerships.

ACLG’s current engagements include the Barangay and Municipal Leadership and Governance Program, an initiative implemented together with the Department of Health RO-IX and the Zuellig Family Foundation Inc., and the Leadership for Convergence Training Program, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

ACLG is also the lead in the University’s involvement in the 2016 National Elections through the United Front for Honest, Orderly, and Peaceful Elections or UF-HOPE.
