ACES Corner | Coastal Resource Management (CRM) through Mangrove and Marine Habitat Conservation

August 27, 2025 – The Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU), through the Ateneo Center for Environment and Sustainability (ACES), held a capacity-building session under the C3P3 SIEMBRA Project at Simarik Island, Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City.

Ms. Famela Jane Monopolio, Forest Technician 1 -CENRO served as the resource person, emphasizing the importance of Coastal Resource Management (CRM) through Mangrove and Marine Habitat Conservation as a vital strategy for protecting biodiversity, ensuring food security, and strengthening community resilience.

This initiative supported the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land), while embodying the call of Laudato Si’ to care for our common home.

By strengthening ecological awareness and community participation, the SIEMBRA Project fostered both environmental sustainability and Indigenous empowerment.
