The Ateneo Center for Environment and Sustainability (ACES) sets up for the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovations Week (RSTW) 2025 and Handa Pilipinas from Sept 23-25 at Palacio del Sur, Zamboanga City.
ALeRTO is an Early Warning System funded by DOST-IX and implemented by Ateneo de Zamboanga University, aiming to boost flood warnings, improve real-time environmental monitoring, and strengthen disaster preparedness across vulnerable communities in Mindanao.
This initiative is in direct alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities by enhancing disaster risk reduction and making communities more resilient. Furthermore, it contributes to SDG 13 – Climate Action by strengthening early warning systems and climate adaptation measures. Finally, it advances SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals by fostering collaboration between academic institutions, government agencies, and local communities.
