Ateneo Learning & Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC) conducts PSEA Training for NSTP Formators

On September 5, 2024, Ateneo Learning & Teaching Excellence Center, in collaboration with the Social Awareness and Community Services Involvement (SACSI) through the National Service Training Program, successfully conducted an orientation for the 18 NSTP Formators. This session was designed to introduce the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) guidelines, with a strong emphasis on the center’s strict Zero Tolerance Policy.

During the orientation, the team thoroughly discussed the protocols for handling sensitive cases, equipping the NSTP Formators with practical steps and strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment for students and the communities they will engage with. By emphasizing the importance of these guidelines, the orientation aimed to prepare formators not only to understand their responsibilities but also to instill a culture of safety and respect in their future interactions. This proactive approach is essential in empowering educators to safeguard vulnerable individuals and promote ethical practices in every community immersion experience.

After the training with the NSTP Formators, the formators are set to educate their students about the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA). As these students prepare for immersion in various communities, the primary goal of this session is to highlight the significance of PSEA and reinforce the strict Zero Tolerance Policy.

This session is designed to empower students to act as advocates for PSEA, encouraging them to actively contribute to creating safe environments in the communities they engage with, where sexual exploitation and abuse are unequivocally prohibited. By adopting this approach, the program aims to create a culture of accountability and respect in every interaction during their community immersion experiences.

Together, these initiatives reflect a strong commitment to educational and social transformation. By creating a culture of accountability, respect, and safety, paving the way for a more inclusive society that prioritizes the dignity and well-being of all individuals. Through these collaborative efforts, we aim to inspire not just the next generation of leaders, but also to create a lasting impact in the communities we serve.
