MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : ATFEST REST DAY
With
the Alumni Homecoming kicking off yesterday, the Ateneo Fiesta 2016 is now in
full swing. Despite the daunting challenges due to time, space and financial
constraints, the AtFest, thus far, is a success and is shaping up to be one of
the most meaningful and memorable.
For
this, I thank the University community for your full cooperation, wholehearted
support, and active participation. I also thank and congratulate the men and
women behind the arduous tasks of planning, preparing and managing: the members
of the Steering and working committees, the staff of Alumni Relations, the
Alumni groups, the academic organizations, and the student leaders of the El
Consejo Atenista.
In
appreciation of all the effort and hard work everyone has invested in this
traditional celebration, I am declaring the coming Monday, 05 December, a University
rest day. I hope we take this
time-off from work not only to relax and unwind, but also to remember Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception,
our patroness and, through her intercession, to give thanks to God for a
peaceful, joyful and meaningful week.
