MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : NEW ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT FOR ADMINISTRATION
I am happy to announce to the community the appointment of FR RICHARD V ELLA SJ as Assistant to the President for Administration beginning 01 September 2016.
Fr Richard entered the Society on 30 May 2000 and was ordained in 2011. He is not new to the AdZU community as he served his regency at the Junior High School as teacher and campus minister from June 2004 to April 2006. After his ordination, he was assigned as a parish priest at Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Parish in Malaybalay, Bukidnon from June 2012 to May 2014. During this period, he also served as the school director of Saint Isidore High School, the only Jesuit-run Catholic high school in the agricultural area of the Upper Pulangi Region of Bukidnon that offers 7th-10th grade programs. His recent assignment prior to coming over was at the Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City as the University Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministries Office.
Fr Richard will assume the post vacated by Fr Marlito G Ocon SJ. Fr Richard shall supervise the following administrative units, and align them toward the University’s goals of greater effectiveness and efficiency of service: Center for Information Technology Services, Finance Office, Physical Plant Office, Purchasing and Custodian’s Office, and University Security Office.
I take this opportunity to thank Fr Lito for his dedicated service and intrepid efforts in strengthening the University’s administrative capacities during one of its most challenging times. We are grateful for the many reforms he instituted in our administrative systems. We pray for his new mission as Chaplain of the Philippine General Hospital.
I thank Fr Richard for joining us and helping steer our University towards its mission of education and social transformation as the Jesuit University in Western Mindanao.
