MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : ADZU COMMEMORATION OF 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF EDSA PEOPLE POWER REVOLUTION
I would like to encourage everyone to attend the following activities on February 24, 2016, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of EDSA people power revolution:
12:00 nn – Mass at the University Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
3:00 – 5:00 pm – Program at Bellarmine-Campion Quadrangle
Through these simple activities, we will remember and relive the spirit of patriotism, selflessness, and sacrifice of Filipino men and women who courageously fought for democracy in our country. We will affirm that this spirit is still needed today as we continue to work for lasting peace and inclusive progress. As the May 2016 local and national elections draw near, we will again stand for these values, and elect leaders who will keep this spirit alive.
As a community, therefore, let us remember, celebrate, and believe: remember EDSA, celebrate our democracy and freedom, and believe that a better future is in our power to create, pro Deo et patria.
