AdZU Gallery initiates Young Artists Convergence

Still in celebration of the National Arts Month, the Gallery of the Peninsula and the Archipelago initiated the Young Artists’ Convergence on February 21 at Fr Eusebio G. Salvador Campus together with budding young local artists.

The meeting was facilitated by a renowned artist Ms Janine Michelle D. Cabato who is an alumna of the AdZU grade school and high school, and present curator of Zobel Museum in La Salle. Cabato is also known for her last year’s exhibit of the bubble speech at the gallery.

The gathering aimed to create a database of young Zamboanga Artists, to encourage young professionals and artists to practice art, to create a platform for these young artists to express their ideas and make concrete plans, to teach them how to create an exhibit proposal, and to open them to various forms of art that they could practice (i.e. installation art, performance art).
