SACSI spearheads Response to Flood Victims of Zamboanga

The Social Awareness Community and Social Involvement Office (SACSI) of Ateneo de Zamboanga University spearheaded the distribution of donations for victims of typhoon Lawin on September 26, 2012.
SACSI reached the targeted 1000 family packs of goods during the accepting of donations in cash and in kind at the Brebeuf Gymnasium on Tuesday, Sept. 25. During the distribution, nearly a thousand affected families were given relief goods. This includes 300 in Tugbungan, 200 in Vitali, 70 in Mangusu, 70 in Tictapul, 200 in Lumiyap and the rest in Patalon.

The school would like to recognize and extend its gratitude to the people and organizations that became part of the operation. The quick response to the flood victims was a success with the unconditional help of the FFP students of ADZU, WMSU Handog, ADZU Medical Team, Task Force, KABALIKAT, D’ALERT, Philippine Coastguard, Crime Watch, and all who wholeheartedly helped in giving donations and offering prayers.
As of today, SACSI reminded that the giving of goods has already stopped but the office is still willing to accept donations in cash.
