Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Ateneo Fiesta) and Alumni Homecoming 2010

22 November 2010

MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY

RE: SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY (ATENEO FIESTA) AND ALUMNI HOMECOMING 2010

I wish to inform our community of the upcoming celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Ateneo Fiesta, and Alumni Homecoming.   I would like to draw your attention to some key events of the program.

29 November, Monday, 7.30 AM: Mass at MPCC and opening ceremonies
of Ateneo Fiesta 2010; since this is a nonworking holiday to honor
Andres Bonifacio day, there will be no offices on this day.
02 December, Thursday, 5,30 PM: AdZU-sponsored Novena Mass at the
Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (MCIC)
03 – 05 December: Alumni Homecoming days and awarding ceremonies
08 December, Wednesday:  Non-academic/non-working day. Masses are as follows:

8.00 AM – Grade School (Sacred Heart Chapel)
8.00 AM – High School (WH Kreutz SJ Campus)
9.00 AM – Pontifical Mass (MCIC)
10.30 AM- Tertiary & Central Services (MPCC)

I urge participation of the AdZU community in these days of festivities especially in any of the scheduled Masses (for Catholics).  I wish to remind our community that it is the Solemnity of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception that we are celebrating – the high point of the Ateneo Fiesta.  On 08 December, there will be no formal classes, no work in the offices but there will be non-academic activities for half-day to highlight the celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception following the CEAP and CBCP advisory on the celebration of this great feast.  Unit heads in coordination with the Office of the Formation are asked to plan the half-day activities as in last year.

The parking areas are not open for use in the La Purisima Campus.  Vehicles may be parked along La Purisima, Camino Nuevo and Nuñez streets.

Our Blessed Mother of the Immaculate Conception, pray for and with us.

Happy Feast Day!

Antonio F Moreno SJ
