ADZU RS Department to sponsor an Interfaith Forum

The Religious Studies Department together with the Muslim Students Association (MSA) of Ateneo de Zamboanga University (MSA) will invite two respected Muslim scholars from the United States namely:  Atty. Fazeel S. Khan and Dr. Norman Malik  to an interfaith forum titled”The Faith of Abraham” on February 24, 2010, 10 AM at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

Atty. Fazeel S. Khan finished his law degree from the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario. He also obtained a Masters in Laws degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Aside from being a US lawyer, Mr. Khan has a passion for comparative religious studies and is an active participant in various inter-faith programs.  At present, he is the Secretary of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Islamic Society and the editor of the periodical “The Light and Islamic Review”.

On the other hand, Dr. Noman I. Malik  is  engaged in the practice of Pathology in the United States. He is Associate Pathologist (retd.) at Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus Ohio, and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Ohio State University.  He is also a Fellow of the American College of Pathologists. He is the grandson of Maulana Muhammad Ali, the famous Islamic Scholar and translator of the Holy Qur’an into English. He has a keen interest in Islam and comparative Religion, and is especially interested in promoting interfaith understanding.
