  • Retention Policies

To be admitted to the program, the following requirements have to be met:
*WPA of 80
*Basic English grades: 80
*Interview with Mass Comm faculty

  • Special Provisions
  • Major subjects in AB English, AB Economics and AB Philosophy must be passed with a grade of 80 or higher. On the 2nd and 3rd year, major subjects with grades lower than 80 must be repeated. Until a grade of 80 is obtained. Students with grades lower than 80 in the major subjects are not qualified to graduate.

 

  • Major subjects in the Bachelor of Science program majors in Psychology and Mass Communication must be passed with a grade of 80 or higher except in Psychology Statistics, Experimental Psychology and Psychological Testing for the VS Psychology program. In the 2nd and 3rd years, major subjects with grades lower than 80 must be repeated until a grade of 80 is obtained.
  • Students with grades lower than 80 in the major subjects are not qualified to graduate. A grade of at least 75 in any major or minor subject can be considered passed ONLY IF the student is on his/her last term in college with no other subjects still to be enrolled in.

 

  • For Psychology majors, the subject General Psychology can be repeated once. If after repeating, the grade is lower than 80, the student will be disqualified from the program.
  • Students who do not comply with the grade requirements to be admitted to third year will be disqualified from the program.

 

  • Students must comply with the following as requirements for graduation:
  • Psychology, Mass Comm and AB English: Thesis, defended, 2 hardbound copies submitted
  • AB Economics: Feasibility Study, defended, hardbound copies submitted
  • AB Philosophy: Comprehensive Examination, passed
  • A student will not be allowed to graduate unless all requirements as stated are complied.

 

  • BSMC students must take Comm 115, 442 and 226 only two times. Failure to get a grade of 80 on the second attempt will disqualify them from the program.
