About ARC

BACKGROUND

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University, “recognizing its responsibility to keep the educational community in touch with its internal and external realities,” continuously energizes the Ateneo Research Center (ARC).

In furtherance of its vision-mission-goals, ARC “commits itself to foster a culture of research within and beyond the institution it serves”. It would accomplish this by taking an active role in the generation of research projects and by collaborating in and/or supporting significant research endeavors whether initiated by members of the school community or by its various constituencies.

VISION

MISSION

Recognizing its crucial role in setting the context of the institution’s general directions, the ARC is committed to:

1. contribute to a more informed and responsive school community
2. undertake research projects meaningful to the school
3. collaborate and support significant research endeavors initiated by members of the school community or its various publics
4. cultivate a research culture within and beyond the institution it serves and
5. take an active role in the generation of research projects on issues affecting the city, the region, and the nation

GOALS

Within and beyond Ateneo de Zamboanga University, ARC seeks to:

1. build-up a database of information significant to the general directions of the entities it serves
2. strengthen the research capabilities of individuals, offices, departments, and units
3. promote appreciation for research and research utilization
4. undertake, collaborate and support significant research endeavors initiated by individuals, offices, departments, and units
5. establish and take an active role in research networks to facilitate accessibility to expertise and to sustain mechanisms for assistance and support
