Ateneo Center for Environment and Sustainability (ACES) spearheaded a capacity building activity tagged, “Map Appreciation and Geospatial Technology Application to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Development Plan,” last September 11, 2019.
The activity aims to familiarize personnel from 98 Zamboanga City barangays with geospatial technologies which can be utilized in the preparation of their respective Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) plan.
In attendance were personnel from City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG ASA), and Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) to the enhance discussions.
This is the first of three batches of activities that will be conducted to enhance disaster mitigation in Zamboanga City.
