Alumni’s ALR System Patented

Three alumni from the Engineering Department of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University successfully patented their Automated Load Retailer (ALR) system at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL).

Three years after being one of the top ten finalists in the 7th Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP), Abdullah Hussin, Seth Ryan Delos Reyes, Moh. Gaffar Jalali, Computer Engineering graduates of AdZU Batch 2011, officially had their technological innovation patented on April 2013.

ALR, a public device that automatically reloads cell phones anywhere anytime, is an invention created by a group of BS Computer Engineering students for the 7th SWEEP Awards back in 2010.

SWEEP is a first-of-its-kind industry-academe partnership that seeks to improve the level of technology and engineering education in the Philippines, particularly in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE).
