21st century teaching in AdZU-SEd’s 21st Pre-Service Confab

21st Century Classroom Learning Environment: Stirring the Mind and Heart for Transformational Education is the theme of this year’s 21st Annual Pre-Service Teachers’ Convention of AdZU’s School of Education (SEd).

The Student-teachers’ Pre-Service Convention and In-Service for Teachers seeks to enrich the participants’ knowledge and skills in four (4) areas, namely: Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers, 21st Century Learning and Innovation Skills Development, Art and Science of Questioning, and Action Research in the Teaching and Learning Spaces.

A separate session for the teacher-participants focuses on 21st Century Learning and Innovation Skills and Action Research, to include a writeshop on drafting the concept paper.

SEd Dean Dr Evelyn Chavez reports that more than 200 Education students and teachers from 13 schools in the city and the nearby provinces convene starting today February 25 til February 27th at the Salvador campus in La Purisima.

Participating schools include the Notre Dame College of Jolo and Sulu College of Technology, Sulu; Mindanao State University and Mahrdika Institute of Technology, Tawi-tawi; Claret College of Isabela and Mindanao Autonomous College Foundation, Inc, Basilan; Aurora Pioneers Memorial College and Balencia College Foundation, Inc, Zamboanga del Sur; and from Zamboanga City: Good Shepherd School, Brent College, Inc, Claret, and Southern City Colleges.
