2 CSIT Faculty Awarded with Best Thesis and Best Paper Distinctions

Ms. Jamaica Lota, a faculty of the Natural Sciences Department, has finished her Master of Science Degree in Biology from the Ateneo de Manila University. Her thesis entitled “Analysis of Genetic Diversity and Redundancy of Rice Germplasm Collection by DNA Fingerprinting“ was awarded Best Thesis.

Mr. Michael Jay Solis, also a faculty of the Natural Sciences Department, finished his Master of Science Degree in Microbiology (Cum Laude) from the University of Santo Tomas.  His thesis entitled “Fungi from Kappaphycis Alvarezii and K. Striatum Biodiversity, Taxonomy and Ice-ice Disease Induction” was presented at the 11th Mycological Society of the Philippines, Inc. Annual Meeting and Symposium on April 29, 2009. His thesis won Best Paper.
