The Ateneo de Zamboanga University was invited to participate in a crucial dialogue addressing the plans and preparations for the potential impacts of the La Niña Phenomenon. This important session took place on July 8, 2024 at the Session Hall of the Sangguniang Panglungsod Building, located on R.T. Lim Boulevard in San Jose, Cawa-Cawa.
Representing the university, Mr. Mario S. Rodriguez, along with two personnel from the Ateneo Center for Environment and Sustainability (ACES), delivered an in-depth presentation. They shared critical data and insights on the Flood Hazard Maps and the ALeRTO Flood Early Warning System, both developed and generated by Ateneo de Zamboanga University. These tools are designed to enhance the community’s preparedness and response to flood risks associated with the La Niña Phenomenon.
