MEMO TO : UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : WATER AND ENERGY CONSERVATION
______________________________________________________________________________
There is an impending crisis on power and water. In fact, we are already experiencing frequent power interruptions and water rationing. To prevent these situations from adversely affecting our day-to-day operations and, consequently, the University’s finances, I strongly urge all members of the University community to conserve water and electricity.
As part of our conservation measures, the Physical Plant Office (PPO) is tasked to monitor and regulate our water supply. Thus, water leakage should be reported to the PPO immediately. Prevention of water and electricity wastage should be everyone’s responsibility as well. At the very least, I expect each member of the community to do his/her share by ensuring that faucets, lights, fans/aircon units are turned off properly, or that any electrical equipment is unplugged after use.
Lastly, I enjoin the different academic units and offices to review your respective activities for March and the coming summer months. I ask that all activities held in our campuses should be done during regular working days as we shall be strictly implementing the campus lockdown and shutdown during Sundays and holidays, in the interest of economy and as part of our conservation efforts.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
