MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : UNIVERSITY STRATEGIC PLANNING
2016 marks the final year of our current strategic planning period. Thus, we have begun the process of drafting our next strategic plan, which will serve as our roadmap in carrying out our mission as the only Jesuit University in Western Mindanao.
It is expected that, in the coming months, groups of faculty, staff, and administrators will be engaged in focused conversations on these points: Where are we coming from? What is happening in our external context? What is our capability to respond to the challenges? What values or principles are important to us? What do you want to see happening in AdZU in the next five years? The outcome of such conversations will greatly help us clarify our institutional vision and set our path towards achieving it.
Another crucial part of the process are our stakeholders — the Alumni, parents, benefactors and mission partners, and key resource persons from the different sectors of society. Their inputs will be valuable in crafting an inclusive, substantive, and responsive strategic plan.
To assist in our strategic planning efforts, I shall convene the University Strategic Planning Conference (USPC), composed of academic leaders, offices heads, and designated individuals. They shall work towards crafting our University Strategic Plan by participating in planning workshops to: assess our institutional capacity; revisit values, vision, and mission; set strategic directions; and, identify metrices or indicators for success, enabling mechanisms such as structures, systems, and resource requirements, among others.
As vital first steps, two planning conferences will be held on the following dates
May 11 – 13, 2016 AdZU Strategic Planning Conference 1
May 25 – 27, 2016 AdZU Strategic Planning Conference 2
I thank the members of the USPC for their availability and generosity in this very important task, and I ask for the support of all members of our University Community in every step and aspect of the planning process.
Thank you.
FR KAREL S SAN JUAN SJ
University President
