RE : TOP 3 FINISH IN NATIONAL INTERCOLLEGIATE GENETICS QUIZ
I am happy to inform the community of the commendable performance of our fourth year BS Biology students during the 6th National Intercollegiate Genetics Quiz Contest held on November 7, 2015 at the Umali Auditorium, SEARCA, UP Los Baños.
From among the 11 teams fielded by different universities all over the country, AdZU emerged second runner-up. UP Baguio got first place and Ateneo de Manila University came out first runner–up. The contest, sponsored by the UPLB Genetics Society, was a rigorous whole day event composed of three rounds: the Individual
Exam Round, Initiation–Elongation Round, and the Termination Round. The questions covered the different branches of Genetics which included Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, Evolutionary Genetics, Developmental Genetics, Qualitative and
Quantitative genetics, and Population Genetics.
I congratulate the AdZU Team composed of Fathima M.Z. Ahmed Kabeer, Lorenzo Gabriel C Limbaga, and Francis B Aquino and their coach, Dr Jocelyn D. Partosa of the Natural Sciences Department.
