MEMO TO: UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE: THE 2014 ATENEO SPECIAL RECOGNITION
I am happy to inform our community that the AdZU Board of Trustees has approved the conferment of the Ateneo Special Recognition on the following:
DR STEVEN ROOD – recipient of the ATENEO PEACE RECOGNITION for his significant contribution as an influential public intellectual and a passionate peace activist and for his scholarly works which bring to light socio-political issues that impact on peace and development in Mindanao and the Philippines
REY MUDJAHID PONCE “KUBLAI” MILLAN – recipient of the FR EDUARDO P HONTIVEROS SJ RECOGNITION FOR CULTURE AND ARTS for his exemplary contribution to the propagation of the Filipino heritage and for his enrichment of the Mindanawon character and identity through his immense and distinctive works of art.
A Special Forum with our conferees shall be held on 15 August 2014, Friday, 8:30 AM at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall. This serves as our avenue for the AdZU community and our partners in the academe, the local government, and civil society groups to get to know our honorees and their achievements.
The Ateneo Special Recognition Convocation will be held on the afternoon of the same day at 3:30 PM at the Multi-Purpose Covered Courts. Classes will be called off at 3:00 PM and offices will close at 3:20 PM to allow faculty, staff and students to attend this very special event. Thus, I am looking forward to everyone’s participation.
