On March 10, 2025, Tetuan Central School took a significant step toward enhancing school-based nutrition with the turnover of essential kitchen equipment for the Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT) School Feeding Kitchen. This initiative aligns with the Department of Education’s School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), which aims to combat malnutrition and promote student well-being.

The equipment provided includes one freezer, two wall fans, two time-pressure cookers, two weighing scales, and two rice cookers, ensuring the BLT Kitchen operates efficiently in preparing nutritious meals for students. As a standardized cooking facility, the BLT Kitchen serves up to a thousand student beneficiaries, utilizing high-quality, industrial-grade food preparation resources. While viands are prepared in the central BLT Kitchen, each school manages its own rice cooking.
This initiative was made possible through the partnership and support of Jollibee Group Foundation, Inc., DepEd Zamboanga City, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, and the Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City. Through this strong partnership, Tetuan Central School, headed by Principal Jonathan T. Tarroza, EdD, and ZCSD SBFP Focal Person Ms. Rowena Lusaya, RN., is now better equipped to provide nutritious meals, supporting student’s health, academic performance, and overall development. This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration in fostering a healthier and more conducive learning environment for children.

The Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF), through its Busog Lusog Talino Program, has been a steadfast partner of the Center for Community Extension Services for over a decade, working collaboratively to combat malnutrition and secure a brighter future for children.
