To continue the public lecture series, which was launched last August 12, 2009, the Social Sciences Department announces the second public lecture entitled: “Different Faces of the State of the Philippine Economy.” The lecture will be held on August 26 (Wednesday) at 3:00 PM at the LRC Conference Room. It is open to the public, especially the AdZU Community. The speaker of this lecture, Dr. Rey Remotin, chair of the Social Sciences Department, will address key points related to the Philippine Economy.
Dr. Remotin has served as resource person in many academic events in and out of the country. Last summer he presented a paper in Indonesia and just this month in Roxas City, Philippines.
This public lecture is second in the series. The first lecture given by Mr. Hezekiah Concepcion was well attended and indeed encouraged the audience to discuss even days after the lecture.
This lecture series is the Social Sciences Department’s contribution to the university’s intellectual leadership direction in the region by holding a series of talk-discussion where faculty representing the History, Political Science, Economics, Humanities, Sociology and Anthropology disciplines invite the community and the public to engage in scholarly discussions on relevant issues.
