PSZCAA Games 2018, formally opens

president of the Private Schools of Zamboanga City Athletic Association, I now
declare the PZCAA Games 2018, open!” – Fr Francisco “Koko” S
Parilla, SJ, AdZU Athletics coordinator and PZCAA President.
Through
the symbolic lighting of the torch and urn, AdZU Athletics coordinator and
PZCAA President Fr Francisco S Parilla, SJ, declared the opening of the PSZCAA
Games 2018, September 28, 2018 at the Ateneo’s Arturo Nepomuceno Covered Court
(ANCC), Kreutz Campus, in Tumaga.
Host
to this year’s PZCAA Games, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University will house the
different athletic events and will vie for gold against student athletes from
A.B. Simpson Alliance School, Bethany Child Development Center, Claret School
of Zamboanga City, Creche Integrated Studies Centre, Filipino Turkish Tolerance
School, Good Shepherd Mission School, Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School
Calarian, Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School Tetuan, Immaculate
Conception Elementary School, Pilar College, Sarang Bangun Learning Center and
High School, Southern City Colleges, St. Joseph School, Unique Progress
Academy, Universidad de Zamboanga, Zamboanga Chong Hua High School, and Zion
Evangelical School.
Erwin
G Pelayo, coordinator of PSZCAA Games 2018, gave the opening remarks during the
opening program. This was followed by the symbolic lighting of the torch and
urn led by the National Players of Zamboanga City–a ritual symbolizing harmony
and goodwill. Among the highlights of the program was the presentation of
participating schools and the Athlete’s Oath led by Carlo Jose Faustino.
