Advocacy ProgramsIssue-based Advocacy Program caters to socio-political issues that aim to involve students, faculty, and staff in activities, events, and programs under conscientization, and Issue advocacy programs, revolving around the goals of raising of awareness, declaring values and principles through position statements, leadership for nation-building, and development of actions addressing the socio-political issues affecting human experiences in the university, Zamboanga City, region 9, Mindanao, and beyond.
Service Learning – Ignatian Extended Community Service for Experiential Education (iExCSEEd) ProgramsThe Ignatian Extended Community Service For Experiential Education or !ExCSEED Program is a holistic formation program crafted by the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement Office. The program is grounded in the vision and mission of the institution and its Jesuit values and principles. Simplified as Transformative Stories of Connectedness, the !ExCSEED Program can be explained in the following points;

It is a program designed as an avenue where the students can learn through service by providing the context of experience through community immersions/exposures and allowing them to deepen their academic knowledge, strengthen their skills/abilities, employing the service learning approach, and, providing opportunities for engagements and collaborations that enable all involved to acquire self and social transformation contributing to the quality of education.
Alternative Programs – SIMOThe Alternative Program of the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) office focuses on multi-perspective exposure activities and community service engagements. It hones three aspects ;the first aspect is Social Development that aims for the development of the well-being of an individual to be, with be, and for the community while the second aspect is Spiritual Development that aims to find meaning and purpose of life through services onto the exposure and engagement activities, and the third aspect is the Ignatian Values Development that aims to be grounded to the values and principles of being an Atenean. These aspects are the grounds of the program, projects, and activities provided by the Alternative Program.
Volunteer and Immersion ProgramsThe Volunteer Program takes care of the training, formation, and volunteer opportunities for the student volunteers, the “SACSI Volunteers” who in turn assist in the promotion and propagation of values and principles for “a life of dedicated service”. The program also provides venues for the volunteer to live-out these principles and develop a social conscience and in order to be agents of change in a culturally dynamic society.
Immersion ProgramsThe Ateneo Immersion Program: ODYSSEY: Explore, Experience, Evolve is a flagship program of Ateneo de Zamboanga University through the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) office establishes genuine connection and companionship between and among the communities (the students and the partner) as it provides a concrete experience that goes beyond the academic and professional competence of the students, faculty, and, staff. While in the program, the individual deepens a sense of social responsibility, empathy, and life-long dedication as such creates or contributes to a more positive impact on society. The program ensures a transformative journey that anchors on Ignatian values and spirituality. The Explore ventures into a new environment be it physical places, ideas, or aspects of oneself. The Experience is active participation and engagement, highlighting the importance of gaining meaningful insights. The Evolve is the transformative aspect of the journey, emphasizing holistic development and growth throughout the immersive experience.
National Service Training Program (NSTP)This program is aimed at enhancing civic-consciousness and defense-preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of service and patriotism among them. This is done through training in any of the three components of the program especially designed to enhance the youth’s active contribution to the general welfare as provided under section 3a, Rule I of R.A. No. 9163 Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR). The 3 components under it are the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), the Literacy Training System (LTS) , and the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.
Community Welfare Training Service (CWTS) – NSTPThe program component contributory to the general welfare and betterment of life for the member of the community is ithe Civic Welfare Training Serfvices (CWTS).
Literacy Training Service (LTS) – NSTPThe program component that trains students to teach literacy and numeracy skills to either school children, out of-school youth or Alternative Learning System learners.
Equip student’s pedagogical methods and strategies that promote literacy and numeracy skills of the learners is the Literacy Training Service (LTS).
Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC)Enhance community facilitators to improve health, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, moral of the citizenship and other social welfare services.
Subject to the policies, regulations and programs of the Department of National Defense (DND) that will capacitate them as National Reserve Corps (NSRC). Equip students with knowledge, skills and attitude particularly in organizing communities in case of calamity and emergencies is the the Reserve Officeres’ Training Corps (ROT).
