PRIVACY NOTICE

Dear Guests and Visitors,

Buenas! Welcome to the Ateneo de Zamboanga University!

Please take time to read this Privacy Notice to understand our Guidelines on privacy, including your rights and responsibilities with regards to privacy while inside our campus.

All who enter the campus, both pedestrians and on board a vehicle with or without a Gate Pass or sticker, will have been shown a similar notice before or around the time a Visitor’s ID or sticker was issued.

WHAT WE COLLECT. We collect basic information about you such as your name and the purpose of your visit and record them in our official logbook. We also require you to deposit a proof of identity for verification purposes, and issue you a Visitor’s ID to be worn while inside the campus.  For those who enter the campus on board a vehicle without the Gate Pass, we take note of your vehicle description and plate number and ask you to deposit your driver’s license or any valid ID.  Be informed that video footages are being recorded via CCTV system installed in all campus entry and exit points.

WHY WE COLLECT AND USE THEM. While we collect the data primarily as a security measure, these also help us investigate reported violations of University policies and other applicable laws and ordinances, and generate for us statistics useful for planning and the improvement of our services.

HOW WE STORE, RETAIN AND DISPOSE OF THEM.  Your data are kept in a safe place inside the University Security Office (USO). Only authorized University personnel will have access to them. We dispose of the logbooks two (2) years from the date of collection, unless required by law to retain for a longer period.  Disposal of the logbooks are checked and supervised by USO. CCTV footages, on the other hand, are stored for thirty (30) days before being automatically deleted from the system. We do not transfer or share your personal data with other persons or organizations, unless required or permitted by law.

HOW YOU MAY EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS.  You have the rights, under the law, with regards to your personal data.  Should you wish to exercise them, or if you have questions, you may contact the University Data Protection Office through the following:
