As future healers and bringers of quality healthcare to the people of Zamboanga and beyond, our future Ignatian doctors need all the training they can get to fully equip them for a career fueled by Cura Personalis and Magis.
On January 6, 2025, The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Social Development Office (SDO) together with the AdZU School of Medicine (AdZU SOM) conducted Phase 2 of “Bridging Leadership Program: Empowering Medical Practitioners for Social Change” which was held last January 6, 2024, at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall (CDCH), Ground Floor of Fr Ernesto Carretero SJ (FEC) Building, Salvador Campus, La Purisima.
This transformative program aims to empower Level IV AdZU SOM students by equipping them with the right knowledge and skills in leadership grounded on Ignatian Spirituality. These learnings are potent tools that students can apply when it comes to handling community health challenges, collaborating with stakeholders, and analyzing systemic inequities, while cultivating their identity as community-focused leaders.
Training our students through these initiatives is a key part of AdZU-SOM’s commitment to producing future Ignatian doctors who are more than able to create real change in Western Mindanao and beyond. With emphasis on progressive leadership through ownership, co-ownership, and co-creation, and the infusion of Ignatian values, our future doctors can bravely tackle whatever challenges come their way in the future.
