MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY
RE: NO CLASSES ON 22 FEBRUARY, MONDAY
This is to inform our community that by virtue of Proclamation No. 1841, there will be no classes on 22 February, Monday, to commemorate the 1986 People Power Revolution. It will be a working day for government and private offices. Classes at all levels are hereby called off, but offices will be open.
I urge members of our community to reflect on the meaning of the restoration of our democracy in 1986, and how we might be more engaged in deepening our democratic institutions. To this end, I invite members of our community to exercise your citizenship by participating in the forthcoming elections. As an institution, we remain committed to ensure meaningful, honest, peaceful and clean elections. SACSI is still in need of volunteers to accomplish this goal. To date, some 100 people have registered as volunteers, but considering the importance of the May elections we need more helping hands. Please visit SACSI to register as volunteers.
