Carrying the banner of excellence, the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) AdZU Chapter blazed through the 21st Regional Mid-year Convention (RMYC) and the 2nd Regional Accounting Quiz Showdown (RAQDOWN), winning several awards and remaining as the undisputed, Overall Champion.
The event is host to various academic and non-academic events, where AdZU bagged the top spots in the cups of Financial Accounting & Theory of Accounts, Management Advisory Services & Cost Accounting, Regulatory Framework & Business Transaction, Auditing Theory & Problems, and RAQDOWN 2018 Grand Cup. Just as well, AdZU triumphed in ranking first in the Attest, slogan-making, volleyball, and pop dance competition. Both representatives of AdZU were also hailed as the Ambassador and Ambassadress of Goodwill 2018-2019.
To symbolize the igniting of the JPIAn spirit of the participants, the local chapter presidents, together with the Regional President Christian Dhale Gonzales, led the lighting of the torch at the Zamboanga del Norte Cultural and Sports Centre last September 6, 2018 to signal the start of RMYC.
Sponsored by several accounting firms and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), the convention aims to strengthen the sense of camaraderie in the Region IX accounting community.
