RE :Introducing Fr Rodney Hart SJ
I am
happy to introduce the new member of our community, FR RODNEY A HART SJ who shall take on a special role as the Spiritual Father in the Basic Education
and College chaplaincies. Fr Rodney is of Indian descent, but has been
missioned to serve in the Philippine Province since 1971. He was ordained on 18
March 1970 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Perambur, Madras, India and
took his final vows on 15 August 1977 at the Oratory of St Ignatius, Loyola
House of Studies at Ateneo de Manila University.
He
served as Chaplain/Assistant Chaplain in
the following: Culion Sanitarium, Palawan (1971-73, 197576); Philippine General
Hospital Chaplaincy, Manila
(1976-79,
1988-90, 1998-2001); and Ateneo de Iloilo (2015-2017). He was also the Parish
Priest/Assistant Parish Priest of Our Lady of Peace Convent (1979-1982), in
Margosatubig
Zamboanga del Sur, St Joseph Convent (1982-89) in Ipil, Zamboanga
Sibugay,
Sacred Heart Parish (1990-98) in Cebu City, Mary the Queen Parish (201115) in
San Juan City, and Santa Maria Parish (2015-17) in Iloilo City. He also held
the post of Director for St Ignatius Academy (1973-74) in Palawan, and Marian
College (1983-88) in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
We
warmly welcome Fr Rodney to his new home here in Zamboanga and wish him all the
best in his mission of spiritual formation for our community members,
especially our students.
