Guidelines on Dealing with Swine Flu A(H1N1)

10 June 2009

MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY

RE: GUIDELINES ON DEALING WITH SWINE FLU A(H1N1)

This is to inform the Ateneo community that we are taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Swine flu A(H1N1).  Fortunately for us here in Zamboanga City, our local Department of Health (DOH) has not yet officially declared any case of AH1N1 as of this time.  Nonetheless, we must take into consideration ways and means to prevent or contain the spread of AH1N1.

I refer you to the DOH guidelines attached to this memo for our information and implementation.  Please take time to read, and discuss these in your classes and meetings.  In addition to these guidelines, during liturgical celebrations, I ask that we refrain from holding hands during the singing of “Our Father” and communion by the tongue.  Reception by the hand will do.

We will continue to stay connected with our doctors and the local DOH for further advice.

Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
