GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS IN COVID-19+ HOUSEHOLDS

In view of rising COVID-19 cases especially in Region IX, with some affecting households and unvaccinated minors, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Senior High School will adopt the following guidelines for cases of students living in COVID-19+ Households:

A.

  1. For students with COVID-19 symptoms but without positive swab test (RT-PCR) results:
    1. Students who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, tiredness, headache, sore throat, loss of sense of taste and/or smell, difficulty in breathing) are advised to practice self-isolation and observe proper health protocols. They are to inform their class moderator immediately, and they are to set an online appointment/consultation with the School Infirmary.
    2. The School Infirmarian will advise the student for proper management of symptoms, and should symptoms develop further, will make the necessary recommendations (ex: check-up with doctor, admission to hospital, swab test, etc.).
    3. The Class Moderator, in coordination with the School Infirmarian, will constantly monitor the situation of the student (at least once every three days) until he/she has fully recovered from his/her symptoms. The Moderator will likewise get in touch with the parent/guardian to check-up on the student and their household, as a gesture of cura personalis.
    4. Students who have existing medical conditions/comorbidities (ex: asthma, diabetes, hypertension, other chronic illness) will be monitored on a daily basis.
  2. For students with positive swab test (RT-PCR) results:
    1. Students with COVID-19 (as evidenced by a positive swab test (RT-PCR) result) will be asked to rest and practice self-quarantine. They are to inform their class moderator immediately of their situation, and will be referred to the School Infirmarian. The student will also be asked to present a copy of the swab test result via email to the OSS, the Class Moderator, and the School Infirmary. This information will be handled with strict confidentiality.
    2. The School Infirmarian will advise the student for proper management of symptoms, and will also check whether the case has already been referred to the City Health Office and/or a physician. The School Infirmarian can assist the student for referral, if necessary.
    3. The Class Moderator, in coordination with the School Infirmarian, will constantly monitor the situation of the student (at least once every three days) until he/she has fully recovered from COVID-19. In turn, the student will be excused from attending S-Mode sessions and will be given due consideration for the deadline of submissions, to give him/her ample time to recover.
    5. A session may also be scheduled with the Guidance Counselor, if necessary.
  3. For students living in COVID-19+ households:
    1. Students who live in a COVID-19+ household will be asked to practice self-isolation and observe proper health protocols. They are to inform their class moderator immediately of their situation, and will be referred to the School Infirmarian.
    2. The School Infirmarian will advise the student for proper health management. In the unfortunate event that the student contracts COVID-19, the guidelines in Section B will be followed.
    3. Depending on the severity of COVID-19 in the household, the student may be excused from attending S-Mode sessions and/or will be given consideration for the deadline of submissions, upon the recommendation of the School Infirmarian and the Class Moderator.
    4. The Moderator will continue to monitor the status of the student (at least once every three days) and their household, as a gesture of cura personalis. The student will also be asked to present an excuse letter via email to the OSS, the Class Moderator, and the School Infirmary. This information will be handled with strict confidentiality.
    5. A session may also be scheduled with the Guidance Counselor, if necessary.
