Construction of the Canteen Building

09 June 2010

MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY

RE: CONSTRUCTION OF THE CANTEEN BUILDING

First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for the greetings and gifts I received from you on the occasion of my birthday.  Indeed it was a day full of grace and gratitude.  Please be assured of my prayers for all of you.

Secondly, on 07 June 2010, AdZU and Arerbac Construction sealed the contract that will signal the building of the new university canteen.  Our permission to construct and contract debt was finally approved by our Curia in Rome and the Vatican last month.  The new four-storey building is priced at PhP 25 million for a floor plan of 514 sq m, per floor.   Our aim is to complete the construction within six months.  The first two floors will be used for canteen services.  The third floor will be taken by the School of Law and the fourth floor will be reserved for classrooms.

The building project team will be composed of the following: Engr Romeo Voltaire R Garcia – Project Manager, Bro Raymund E Belleza SJ, Engr Aldrina A Hitalia, Mr Roberto G Valerio, Engr Santiago S Navarro, Engr Victor E Tierra, and Engr Ronaldo A Serimogan. I thank the members of the project team for their work.

The groundbreaking ceremony is set on 18 June, after the Holy Spirit Mass of the Colleges and Central Services.

For your information.

Antonio F Moreno SJ
