MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR EDUCATION
The commencement and completion ceremonies signify the culmination of another school year. Allow me then, to thank everyone behind the success of all these activities: the academic units headed by their Principals and Deans, and the Academic Vice President and their respective organizing committees; the GS/HS/CO Registrar Offices, Physical Plant Office, and the University Security Office.
I am happy to inform the community that AdZU has been designated as a Center of Excellence for Education pursuant to CHED Memorandum Order No. 17 series 2016.
This recognition, given to higher education institutions that continuously demonstrate high performance in the areas of instruction, research and publication, extension and linkages and institutional qualifications, is part of the Commission on Higher Education‘s COE/COD program provided for under Section 8 (f) of RA 7722, otherwise known as the Higher Education Act of 1994. Through this program, CHED shall “… identify, support and develop potential centers of excellence in program areas needed for the development of world–class scholarship, nation building and national development…”
I congratulate and thank the School of Education administrators, faculty, staff and students, especially the Dean, Dr Evelyn G Chavez and the Academic Vice President, Dr Rebecca V Fernandez.
