MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT FOR REBUILDING
I would like to thank the University community and its friends for the great support in the process of rebuilding from the July 7 fire that burned Brebeuf Gym and nearby buildings.
Many friends of the University have given donations and have offered services to help us recover from the damages and losses caused by the fire. The rehabilitation of Gonzaga wing of the College Building has started, and we are progressing steadily in gathering resources to replace the University Band instruments, computer laboratories, and Law School library and facilities. We will soon plan for a new building, and for which we will undertake a major fund raising campaign.
There are many challenging tasks ahead, and to help the Office of the President in leading these tasks, I am hereby appointing ENGINEER EUGENE KANINDOT as Assistant to the President for Rebuilding, effective 8 August 2016. He will assist the President in the following functions:
1. Planning, managing, and supervising activities related to the rebuilding of facilities affected by the fire last July 7, 2016;
2. Coordinating
the support of donors and friends in terms of donations, fund-raising
events, services, information, and materials; and
3. Providing information to the public on updates and progress on the rebuilding process.
I would like to thank Engr Kanindot for taking on these functions during this critical period of
our University. I request the community to support him as we continue
to pray and strengthen our unity and resolve to move forward and “rise
from the ashes.”
Thank you.
FR KAREL S SAN JUAN SJ
