MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY
RE: ASSISTANCE TO TYPHOON PABLO SURVIVORS AND VICTIMS
We are in a national state of calamity in the wake of Typhoon Pablo, although we don’t feel so much the destruction here in Zamboanga City. I appeal to the whole AdZU community including our alumni, Basic Education Parents-Teachers Associations and College Parents Council to exert extra effort to collect cash and goods for the survivors and victims of Typhoon Pablo. We will prioritize cash mobilization since this can easily be sent to our partner institutions near the affected areas. I invite all to be creative and imaginative in raising revenues for this purpose.
We have initially sent P 500,000.00 from our calamity fund to Ateneo de Davao University, but more needs to be done. I am asking the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) to coordinate our efforts.
In the spirit of solidarity, I am appealing that the Christmas parties (whether they be university-wide or unit-based) be in keeping with the spirit of the times. Whatever revenues you can raise for scaling down Christmas celebrations will be donated to the typhoon victims and survivors. We continue to pray for those who have lost lives and properties.
