Five entries from Ateneo De Zamboanga University made it to the finals of Animahenasyon 2012. This event is the 6th Philippine Animation Festival organized by the Animation Council of the Philippines Incorporated ( ACPI). It will be held on November 26 to 29, 2012 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. According to Animahenasyon 2012 website, the festival aims to encourage the production of original content in Philippine animation, recognize the Filipino talent in the field of animation and achieve local and international animation excellence and competitiveness.
The Finalists from Ateneo DeZamboanga University are all from the College of Science and Information Technology. In the professional division, Mr. Glenn Oliva, a faculty of ADZU made it to the finals with his entry Swords and Kisses. Meanwhile, ADZU students taking up Information Technology major in Multimedia and Animation also stood out in the students division. These entries include Bulador de Casa by Yano Covarrubias, Tulak Bala by Grace Antonio, Monskuara by Roberto Jauculan Oquias Jr., and Weave of Change by Jela Mae Ventura. “All of us worked really hard on our animations kasi talaga and we were all nervous based on experience kasi , Animahenasyon has leveled up its standards”, Jela Mae Ventura ,an Animahensyon 2012 finalist said in an interview.
Exhibits, animated films in competition and exhibition, master class, workshop or conference, and the awards night are the activities to look forward to in Animahenasyon 2012.
