In the morning of September 26, 2014, at around 6:00AM, two buses with students and faculty from the School of Management and Accountancy left the Eusebio Salvador Campus for a very historical tree Planting at Talon Talon, Zamboanga City.
Through the initiative of Dean Maynard Bagtasos, the School of Management and Accountancy pledged to join the historical event called TREEVOLUTION for Greener Mindanao. SMA Outreach Coordinator Jose Journal Pangan led the ADZU faculty, staff, and students as steward.
“Despite the heat of the sun, the muddy terrain and the high tide, nothing is impossible if we hold on together to build back a better Zamboanga and a Greener Mindanao”, said Mr. Pangan.
Treevolution: Greening Mindanao aimed to plant 4.6 million trees simultaneously in six regions of Mindanao including Zamboanga City. It hopes to challenge the Guinness world record title for India’s 1.9 million trees planted.
