Only
on its second year in the bar exams, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University College
of Law (AdZU-COL) scored a 100 percent over-all passing rate in the latest Bar
Examinations held November 6, 13, 20, and 27 last year at the University of
Santo Tomas in Manila.
Released
by the Supreme Court (SC) May 3, the results revealed that all of AdZU’s Law
graduates who took the 2016 Bar made it to the list of successful bar exam
takers. They are among the 3,747 (of the
6,344) who raised the bar of the national passing rate of 59.06 percent,
reportedly the highest in the last 16 years.
Adding
to the prestigious roster of Attorneys-at-law are Czar Ian Agbayani, Rhino
Chua, Jan Ceasar Climaco, Antonio Leandro Dagdag, Mikaila Ross Fernandez,
Francis Xavier Sinon, Jose Gabriel Cabaron, Ellora Kate Cabato, Ma Cheryl Cardenas,
Bensaud Degusman, Megan Angela Garcia, Phyllisabelle Bethany General, Khalil
Lajarato, Alman-Najar Namla, Jordache Ramos, and Varellie Vargas.
The
16 successful examinees are from
the different batches of the AdZU College of Law. Ten
are from the batch that graduated
March 2016, and six from the first batch of law students that graduated in March
2015.
In
his message to the AdZU community, AdZU President Fr Karel S San Juan, SJ
congratulated the 16 bar passers and the AdZU College of Law Dean Atty Rosendo
Castillo Jr, and thanked him and the COL faculty and staff, and the college’s
mother institution, the Xavier University College of Law in Cagayan de Oro City.
He also extended his gratitude to the Ateneo de Manila University Law School
where many of the examinees from AdZU reviewed for the Bar.
