AdZu College Community Welcomes SY 2014-2015 in Prayer
The members of the faculty, academic staff, and students of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University college community gathered at the Multi-Purpose Covered Courts on June 18 2014 at 10:30 am to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit.
The presider and homilist for the mass was Father President Karel S San Juan SJ. In his homily he expressed the value of time and advised the students to make the most of their stay in college by engaging in productive activities and living out the values espoused by Jesuit Education. He also discussed the need for Zamboanguenos to choose hope in the face of difficulties the city is currently facing as it recovers from the effects of the Zamboanga siege.
The mass was concelebrated by Fr Buddy Wee SJ, Fr Lito Ocon SJ, Fr Willy Samson SJ, and Fr Francisco Bustamante SJ. After the mass Fr Karel also introduced a new member to the Jesuit community in Zamboanga City, Fr Gil C Donayre SJ, who will be chaplain of the Grade School Unit.
