The Ateneo Center for Environment and Sustainability (ACES) joined the Alternative Law Groups, Inc. (ALG) in the launch of the community roadshow, “Power, People, and Protection: A Community Roadshow on Coal, Environment, and Community Rights.” This activity was implemented under ALG’s Just Energy Transition (JET) Fellowship Program and conducted in partnership with the Social Development Unit of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University through ACES.
Held at the ADZU Lantaka Campus, the roadshow convened community leaders, fisherfolk and farmer representatives, and other sectoral stakeholders from Barangay Talisayan. Discussions centered on core themes of the Just Energy Transition framework, including environmental laws for the community and community rights.
Through interactive sessions on the Environmental Impact Statement system and legal advocacy pathways, participants gained valuable knowledge to better engage in environmental governance and community-led decision-making.
