FROM INQUIRY TO INNOVATION | SED holds 3rd Future Educators’ Classroom-Based Action Research Colloquium

Guided by its mission to develop reflective, research-oriented, and transformative educators, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University School of Education (SED) held the 3rd Future Educators’ Classroom-Based Action Research (CBAR) Colloquium on May 7, 2026, at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall (CDCH), Salvador Campus.

The colloquium brought together Ignatian pre-service teachers, faculty members, and academic leaders to celebrate research-driven teaching practices and innovative educational inquiry. Classroom-based action research presentations highlighted learner-centered strategies and practical solutions to educational concerns encountered during field experiences and internship engagements.

In her welcome remarks, the Dean of the School of Education Dr. Dorothy Joann Lei L. Rabajante, emphasized the importance of research in developing reflective and responsive educators through evidence-based practice. Meanwhile, the Vice President for Higher Education Fr. Rene C. Tacastacas, SJ, encouraged students to pursue excellence and meaningful service through the Ignatian value of magis.

The event also featured interactive discussions, poster presentations, and the recognition of outstanding research outputs and presenters. The program concluded with closing remarks from the Chair of the Professional Education Department Ms. Pilar C. Agraviador, who commended the future educators for their dedication to research and transformative education.

Through this year’s CBAR Colloquium, the SED reaffirmed its commitment to forming Ignatian educators who bridge research and practice in shaping meaningful learning experiences for future generations.
