On November 14, 2025, as part of the continuous efforts of the C3P3 SIEMBRA Project, the monthly monitoring visit was conducted at Simariki Island to assess the status and progress of existing mangrove farms and nursery establishments. The visit aimed to evaluate the health, growth, and overall management of planted mangroves, ensuring that the community-based initiatives are aligned with sustainable coastal resource management practices.

During the visit, geotagging activities were also carried out to accurately record the locations of mangrove farms and nurseries. The purpose of geotagging is to create a reliable spatial database that allows for easy tracking, mapping, and monitoring of the planted areas over time. This helps project implementers and stakeholders to systematically plan interventions, measure growth success, and ensure accountability in the rehabilitation efforts.

The visit reinforces our commitment to supporting community-driven mangrove restoration, enhancing coastal resilience, and strengthening the capacity of local stakeholders in maintaining sustainable mangrove ecosystems.

Our impact is strategically aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on three key areas. In direct support of SDG 14: Life Below Water, we are committed to protecting vital coastal ecosystems and preserving marine biodiversity. Our initiatives also advance SDG 13: Climate Action by enhancing the resilience of local communities to climate-related impacts. Underpinning these efforts is our dedication to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which we fulfill by championing Indigenous-led management and stewardship of coastal regions.

This initiative is made possible by the dedication of Indigenous partners who continue to lead in nurturing their environment for a more sustainable and resilient future. The visit reinforces our commitment to supporting community-driven mangrove restoration, enhancing coastal resilience, and strengthening the capacity of local stakeholders in maintaining sustainable mangrove ecosystems.
