Teach Anywhere Zamboanga is a groundbreaking literacy and numeracy recovery program that was launched in Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines in February 2023. This program is spearheaded by a coalition of community practitioners committed to addressing educational challenges in underprivileged schools. With a strong focus on Zamboanga Peninsula, Teach Anywhere brings together organizations like Yellow Boat of Hope, AHA Learning Center, and Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC) as key partners.
In partnership with the DepEd Schools Division of Zamboanga City, Teach Anywhere has already conducted pioneer training sessions of Teach at the Right Level (TaRL), laying the foundation for the program’s implementation. The pilot TaRL schools selected for this initial phase are San Jose Gusu Elementary School and Baliwasan Central School SPED Center. These schools serve as the grounds for the innovative TaRL approach, which focuses on assessing each child’s current level of learning and tailoring instruction accordingly.
By leveraging the expertise and resources of various stakeholders, Teach Anywhere aims to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for underprivileged students in Zamboanga Peninsula. Through cost-efficient and scalable solutions, this program aspires to create a positive impact on the educational landscape, enabling students to develop essential skills for success. With its initial strides already taken, Teach Anywhere is poised to make a significant difference in the lives of students in Zamboanga Peninsula and beyond.
