Selected Junior High School students recently participated in the 2016 Regional Seminar-Workshop in Conducting Science Investigatory Project on July 18-20, 2016 at Royce Convention Center, Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City conducted by the Samahang Pisika ng Visayas at Mindanao (SPVM) and Natural Sciences Department of the College of Science and Information Technology of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (CSIT-AdZU).
This activity was participated by students and teachers from both the public and private schools. There were 28 paper proposals in Biology, 15 in Chemistry and 7 in Physics.

Both groups in Biology qualified for the Semi-Finals. The paper proposal on Comparing the Effectiveness of Banana Peel Ash and Condensate as Organic Fertilizer on the Growth of Tomatoes was awarded as Best Paper Proposal in Biology and landed 2nd Place Over-all.
The Physics group came in third place in their category with a very minimal margin of 0.5 points from the second placer. Unfortunately, only two paper proposals were selected in the said category.
