Peace Advocates of Ateneo (PAA)
The Peace Advocates of Ateneo (PAA), under the Ateneo Peace and Culture Institute, visited the Reception and Study Center for Children in Talon-Talon on September 2012.
The peace group consisted of faculty and staff who underwent the Cultura de Paz Workshop on July 19-21, 2012 at the House of Peace, Harmony Village, Silsilah in Pitogo, Zamboanga City.
The visit, in line with the celebration of Peace’ta, seeks to inculcate in the members the value of compassionate commitment to work for peace and development.
The advocates conducted a feeding program and prepared games and intermission numbers to entertain the children at the center. The group also donated 6 boxes of diapers and 2 boxes of kitchen condiments to the beneficiaries of the center.
The center houses around 60 children ranging from infant to preteens at present.
The Peace Advocates of Ateneo tapped WESMIDCO, SCA Phils. the makers of Drypers, and Ms. Aileen Wee as partners for this event.
