AdZU to Host Fr Rene Javellana’s Public Talk

The Ateneo Peace and Culture Institute (APCI), the Center for Performing and Visual Arts (CPVA), and the Gallery of the Peninsula and the Archipelago (GPA) of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) will host a special public talk entitled “Arts for Peace”. This will be held on February 16, 2010 (Tuesday) at the Gallery of the Peninsula and the Archipelago, AdZU La Purisima Campus.

The resource person, Fr Rene Javellana, SJ is a writer, Art Historian and Associate Professor of Fine Arts at the Ateneo de Manila University. He is also the Director of the Fine Arts Program in the School of Humanities. He authored numerous books, some of which have earned national awards, and have contributed to several important publications on Philippine History and Arts.

It is with hope that through this activity, participants will have a better understanding and appreciation of arts as means of advocating for peace in the region.
