Dr. Henry Oh won first place in the national journal competition of the American Medical Technologists (AMT). “El Tecnico” is the official publication of the State of New Mexico of the American Medical Technologists. Dr. Oh took over as the editor in 2008, and at the same was elected president of the state society. It is the first time that the state society won the top spot in publications since the journal started in mid-1980s. Dr. Oh will receive the award in July 2010 during the 72nd AMT National Convention in Las Vegas, NV. He will also be a speaker during the convention.
Dr. Oh is dedicating this award to his former high school English teachers: Mr. Emir Espano, the late Mr. Jess Invierno, Mr. Arthur Silorio, and Mrs. Marita Reyes. He learned the basics of journalism in high school.
It’s been 5 years in a row that Dr. Oh has been the recipient of several awards: 2010- first place in journal competition of the American Medical Technologists (AMT); 2009 AMT Distinguished Achievement Award; 2008 Outstanding Atenean Overseas Award in Academics; 2007 U.S. National Teacher of the Year Honorable Mention Award; 2006 International Historical Society of Who’s Who of Educators. He was the recipient of the 1996 Outstanding Atenean Alumnus Award, and 1997 Parangal ng Bayan Young Achiever Award in Medicine and Allied Health.Dr. Oh is a associate fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, and a fellow of the Graduate Academy of Management. He is an executive board member of the National Lambda Beta Honor Society for Respiratory Therapy.
