Vision
A center within an Educational Institution that works in partnership with multi-cultural communities and with other development organization towards the improvement of the quality of life in the city, Zamboanga Peninsula, and its neighboring island provinces.
Mission
To provide peace and development programs, projects and services to multi-cultural, isolated, and vulnerable communities in the city, Zamboanga Peninsula and its neighboring island provinces through building capacities and partnership.
Guiding Principles
The guiding principles of the program that all stakeholders shall adhere to are as follows:
- Research and Technology Based – Research studies are conducted to guide the program stakeholders in implementing the program. Research results are shared to all with the end in view of improving their performance. Technological interventions are founded on research.
- Participatory – The people are the prime movers of their own development. They shall be encouraged to actively participate in all the undertakings of the program through consultations and dialogues. The program shall encourage the communities to mobilize their own resources and shall discourage community dependency and dole out mentality.
- Community Harmony – The program shall mainstream the culture of peace and non-violence in all its interventions. It shall encourage and promote interfaith dialogues.
- Transparency and Accountability – The values of transparency and accountability shall also be mainstreamed in all the program’s interventions.
- Ecological Stewardship – The program shall promote the responsible and systematic utilization of their ecological resources.
- Integrative and Collaborative – The program shall strive for a holistic approach in addressing the development challenges by building networks and partnerships among the stakeholders.
Goal and Objectives
Goal
To help improve the quality of life of multi-cultural communities to achieve sustainable peace and development.
Objectives
At the end of five (6) years, the program shall have been able to assist communities in:
- Increasing access of constituents to basic services such as education, health and social welfare;
- Capacitating local communities, civil society organizations, private and local government sectors in peace building;
- Increasing social capacities of community partners to effectively govern and manage their own affairs;
- Assisting community partners for economic undertakings such as livelihood, employment generation activities and business enterprise development; and
- Sustaining the utilization and management of ecological resources.
